FHE: Father's Blessings
The start of a new school year is a great time to teach your children about the priesthood, and to give them a Father's blessing. If there isn't a worthy priesthood holder in your home, ask another family member, such as a grandfather or uncle; or invite a friend, home teacher, ward member or a member of the bishopric to give the blessing.
In the April 2016 General Conference, Elder Russell M. Nelson said, "In these latter days, we know there will be earthquakes in diverse places. Perhaps one of those diverse places will be in our own homes, where emotional, financial, or spiritual 'earthquakes' may occur. Priesthood power can calm the seas and heal fractures in the earth. Priesthood power can also calm the minds and heal fractures in the hearts of those we love."
Priesthood power can truly heal the fractures in our lives and calm our stormy seas. A priesthood blessing may just make all the difference for you or your family members this year.
To teach your family more about the priesthood, read and study President Nelson's talk, "The Price of Priesthood Power," and discuss ways you can strengthen your home through the priesthood.
