FHE: Spiritual Preparedness Kit
With all of our planning and preparedness, it's important to remember to gather some items to help strengthen and uplift our families during a crisis.
For family home evening tonight, talk about spiritual and temporal preparedness by sharing the parable of the ten virgins. Teach your family about why it's important to prepare BOTH spiritually AND temporally. Ask each family member what kinds of items would be helpful to lift their spirits during an emergency. Gather items for a spiritual emergency kit, such as pocket-sized scriptures, hymn book, primary song book and a gospel art kit. You could consider adding a journal or notebook with pens; a binder full of your favorite talks, Ensign articles, and your patriarchal blessing; a photo book with family pictures or pictures of the Savior; or an older smart phone or tablet, loaded with your favorite gospel music, scriptures and conference talks (be sure to include a solar charger).
