Ward Specialist Duties

  • Attend monthly Stake Provident Living Committee meetings.
  • Attend and assist with Stake Provident Living classes and other assignments.
  • Announce stake orders to your ward through email, text, and/or printed advertising. Please contact your ward’s Bulletin Specialist, Bishopric, RS Presidency, Elder’s Quorum Presidency, High Priest Group Leadership, Primary Presidency, Young Men’s Presidency & Young Women’s Presidency to inform them about future orders and classes.
  • Just before the stake order closes, check with everyone who has signed up on the printable order forms to remind them to make payment to a member of their bishopric through a tithing/donations slip.
  • When all of the money for your ward's orders have been submitted to the bishopric, the clerk will send you a printout telling you who has paid. Reconcile that with your ward's printable order form to make sure all of the information matches. If there are any discrepancies, work to correct them by communicating with the clerk or those who have signed up to order. When all of the information is correct, enter all of the order information into your ward's electronic order form. When you have finished, contact the stake provident living order specialist to inform them that your ward's order is complete. When orders are in stock, you will pick them up and promptly distribute products to the ward members who have paid. Order forms can be found HERE.
  • Send newsletters and other information from the Stake Provident Living Committee to your ward through email and/or print to your ward’s RS Presidency, Elder’s Quorum Presidency, High Priest Group Leadership, Primary Presidency, Young Men’s Presidency & Young Women’s Presidency.
  • This calling currently falls under the RS Presidency.  If you do not have a Provident Living Specialist in your ward, we would ask that you call one as soon as possible. If no Ward Provident Living Specialist has been called to serve in your ward, please appoint someone else to fulfill their duties until a ward specialist is called.
  • Relief Society presidencies should plan on receiving announcements, information about upcoming orders, trainings, etc., from your ward specialist, which can be forwarded to members through ward emails or printed. If your ward specialist doesn't contact you with this information at least monthly, please contact them.
